{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.377","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.377","heading":"Yielding right-of-way to solid waste collection service vehicle.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"solid waste collection service vehicle\" means a vehicle\nused  by a solid waste collection service provider registered with a county\npursuant to KRS 224.43-315(2).\n(2) Upon  approaching and passing a stationary solid waste collection service\nvehicle that is giving a visual signal by alternately displaying flashing yellow,\nred, white, or amber lights, the operator of the approaching motor vehicle shall\nyield the right-of-way to the solid waste collection service vehicle or any\ncollection service employees by:\n(a) Reducing to, and maintaining, a safe speed for weather, road conditions,\nand vehicular or pedestrian traffic; and\n(b) Proceeding with due care and caution.\n(3) This section may be cited as the Slow Down to Get Around Law.","path":["KRS Chapter 189"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45731","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:43Z","sha256":"7322cba38e81022a6956c4d47a3d28f9a7e5a41dbd69a15c9e8c67be43ab0c9f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-189.375","next":"us-ky/krs-189.378"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
