{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.999","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.999","heading":"Prepayment of fines subject to certain conditions.","body":"(1) All offenses under this chapter classified as violations shall be prepayable, except\nfor:\n(a) Any offense that could result in license suspension or revocation by the court\nor the Transportation Cabinet;\n(b) Any offense relating to KRS 189.393, 189.520, or 189.580;\n(c) When the defendant is speeding more than twenty -five (25) miles per hour\nover the posted speed limit under KRS 189.394;\n(d) An offense where evidence of the offense or of commission of another offense\nis seized by the officer and the citation is so marked and a court date set;\n(e) The offense is cited with another offense that is not prepayable;\n(f) When the defendant is under the age of eighteen (18); or\n(g) An arrest is made under KRS 431.015.\n(2) In the event that a prepayable offense is ci ted with another offense that is not\nprepayable, a court appearance shall be required on all of the offenses as required by\nKRS 431.452.","path":["KRS Chapter 189"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48667","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:44Z","sha256":"e56d0ca7f9ba467665e2fa8ca323cf7ff3fe077382aa8de245c97dc226a63a3c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-189.995","next":"us-ky/krs-189a.005"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
