{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-194a.025","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 194A.025","heading":"Power and authority of secretary.","body":"(1) The secretary for health and family services and the secretary's designated\nrepresentatives in the discharge of the duties of the secretary may administer oaths\nand affirmations, take depositions, certify official acts, and issue subpoenas to\ncompel the at tendance of witnesses and production of books, papers,\ncorrespondence, memoranda, and other records considered necessary and relevant\nas evidence at hearings held in connection with the administration of the cabinet.\n(2) The secretary may delegate any duties of the office of secretary to employees of the\ncabinet as the secretary deems necessary and appropriate, unless otherwise\nprohibited by statutes.\n(3) The secretary may enter into any contracts and agreements with individuals,\ncolleges, universities, ass ociations, corporations, municipalities, and other units of\ngovernment as may be deemed necessary to carry out the general intent and\npurposes of the cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 194A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6635","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:46Z","sha256":"1a68aab263889129ff13e4af80306dc5335f75739d7a68c07d95cc3de27366a8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-194a.010","next":"us-ky/krs-194a.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
