The purpose of\nthe office is to oversee information and resources related to policy and services\naffecting residents of Kentucky with dementia, and the caregivers and families of\nthe residents.\n(2) The dementia services coordinator shall be a full -time, permanent employee and\nshall be responsible for the staffing and operational details of the office.\n(3) The dementia services coordinator shall prepare an annual report on the operations\nof the office and council, which shall include but not be limited to a progress update\non the implementation of the Kentucky Alzheimer's and Rel ated Dementias State\nPlan and any state plan amendments or recommendations. The report shall be\nsubmitted to the Legislative Research Commission for referral to the Interim Joint\nCommittee on Health Services by December 1 of each year.\n(4) The duties of the office shall include but not be limited to:\n(a) Creating, implementing, and updating the Kentucky Alzheimer's and Related\nDementias State Plan;\n(b) Coordinating and managing the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders\nAdvisory Council;\n(c) Assessing an d analyzing dementia -specific data collected by the cabinet,\nincluding the behavioral risk factor surveillance system, and data from other\nrelevant departments and divisions;\n(d) Evaluating of state-funded dementia services;\n(e) Identifying and supporting the development of dementia-specific trainings;\n(f) Streamlining all applicable state government services to increase efficiency\nand improve the quality of care in residential and home and community -based\nsettings;\n(g) Identifying any duplicative services to eliminate all unnecessary costs;\n(h) Identifying and applying for grant opportunities to expand the scope of\nservices while reducing state costs; and\n(i) Completing other duties relevant to supporting policy developm ent and\nimplementation to support individuals with dementia and their caregivers.","path":["KRS Chapter 194A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57311","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:47Z","sha256":"128570b87eff1911a1a869012884bb04954e1236eada3087f8311702c33acbaf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-194a.600","next":"us-ky/krs-194a.603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
