{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-194a.710","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 194A.710","heading":"Licensure requirement -- Categories -- Administrative regulations.","body":"(1) An assisted living community shall not operate unless it is licensed under this\nchapter. A licensee shall be legally responsible for the management, control, and\noperations of the facility.\n(2) The following categories are established for assisted living community licensure:\n(a) An assisted living community license for any facility that provides assisted\nliving services, excluding basic health and health-related services;\n(b) An assisted living community with basic health care license for any facility\nthat:\n1. Provides assisted living services, including basic health and health -\nrelated services directly to its residents; and\n2. Does not have a secured dementia care unit; and\n(c) An assisted living community with dementia care license for any facility that\nprovides assisted living services and dementia care services in a secured\ndementia care unit.\n(3) An assisted living community shall not operate a secured dementia care uni t\nwithout first obtaining an assisted living community with dementia care license\nfrom the cabinet. A license issued pursuant to this section shall not be assignable or\ntransferable.\n(4) The Office of Inspector General shall promulgate administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A to establish:\n(a) Licensing classifications within the categories as described in subsection (2)\nof this section; and\n(b) Standards to help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents.","path":["KRS Chapter 194A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53754","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:47Z","sha256":"244a84342781d7f8f7eba93ad90dc61567d2afd91c05fc6526db34f166e26418","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-194a.709","next":"us-ky/krs-194a.711"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
