{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-194a.717","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 194A.717","heading":"Staffing requirements -- Prohibition against employing staff member","body":"with active communicable disease -- Emergency evacuation policy.\n(1) Staffing in an assisted living community shall be sufficient in number and\nqualification to meet the twe nty-four (24) hour scheduled needs of each resident\npursuant to the lease agreement, functional needs assessment, and service plan.\n(2) One (1) awake staff member shall be on site at each licensed entity at all times.\n(3) An assisted living community shall  have a designated manager who is at least\ntwenty-one (21) years of age, has at least a high school diploma or a High School\nEquivalency Diploma, and has demonstrated management or administrative ability\nto maintain the daily operations.\n(4) No employee who has an active communicable disease reportable to the Department\nfor Public Health shall be permitted to work in an assisted living community if the\nemployee is a danger to the residents or other employees.\n(5) When a resident requires hands-on assistance of another person to walk, transfer, or\nmove from place to place with or without an assistive device, the assisted living\ncommunity shall have a policy that describes how priority will be given by staff\nsufficient to assist that resident during times of e mergency when evacuation may be\nnecessary.","path":["KRS Chapter 194A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52510","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:47Z","sha256":"e4858d6b3819a65a44e0ae24b538ebe3fd00426fa999bd23a8bd640edfe1f9a2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-194a.715","next":"us-ky/krs-194a.719"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
