{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-194a.719","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 194A.719","heading":"In-service education for staff and management.","body":"(1) Prior to independently working with residents, assisted living community staff and\nmanagement shall receive orientation education addressing the following topics,\nwith emphasis on those most applicable to the employee's assigned duties:\n(a) Resident rights;\n(b) Community policies;\n(c) Adult first aid;\n(d) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation unless the policies of the assisted living\ncommunity state that this procedure is not initiated by its staff, and that\nresidents and prospective residents are informed of the policies;\n(e) Adult abuse and neglect;\n(f) Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia;\n(g) Emergency procedures;\n(h) Aging process;\n(i) Assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily\nliving;\n(j) Particular needs or con ditions if the assisted living community markets itself\nas providing special programming, staffing, or training on behalf of residents\nwith particular needs or conditions; and\n(k) Assistance with self-administration of medication.\n(2) Assisted living commu nity staff and management shall receive annual in -service\neducation applicable to their assigned duties that addresses no fewer than four (4) of\nthe topics listed in subsection (1) of this section, one (1) of which shall be\nAlzheimer's disease and other types of dementia.","path":["KRS Chapter 194A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52511","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:47Z","sha256":"8abe1220d730df49f9bec250a6292f669c6628e1bb7ec4150a2dd9528acdeeb5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-194a.717","next":"us-ky/krs-194a.7201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
