{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-195.105","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 195.105","heading":"Training program authorized -- Research assignment -- Classification --","body":"Compensation -- Contract.\n(1) The secretary for health and family services in coordination with the Personnel\nCabinet is authorized to establish formal training programs within th e Cabinet for\nHealth and Family Services or within any of the departments, divisions, or sections\nof the cabinet for the training of necessary personnel for the administration of the\nprograms of the cabinet. When courses of study, applicable to the program\nprocesses of the cabinet, are not available through instruction within the cabinet,\narrangements may be made for the training of employees in any public or private\nschool or institution having available facilities for that purpose, and this training\nshall be deemed to be a part of the cabinet's training program. Training of\nemployees in public or private schools or institutions for this purpose shall be\ndeemed a part of research assignments to be completed during the period of study,\nthese assignments to r elate directly to the work assignment of the employee. After\nconsulting with the Personnel Cabinet, position classifications in the research series\nshall be established for employees on work study assignments, and funds of the\ncabinet may be used to pay sa laries commensurate with the appropriate\nclassification while the employee is receiving such training.\n(2) Any employee who is paid a salary while receiving such training shall be required to\nenter into a contract, prior to receiving the training, that he will complete a specified\nwork assignment, and that unless he continues in the employ of the cabinet for at\nleast a period equivalent to the training period, immediately following the\ncompletion of such training, the state will hold a claim against that pe rson for the\namount of salary paid during the training period, and he will repay to the cabinet the\nsum paid to him by the cabinet during the period of his training.","path":["KRS Chapter 195"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6763","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:48Z","sha256":"0712f7c92744c627d959698037458d9dd1e0ff17f62124c0d555b34daed33e86","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-195.100","next":"us-ky/krs-195.107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
