In addition to presenting the consequences of vigorously shaking\nan infant or yo ung child, this course shall suggest methods of calming crying\ninfants, techniques for caregivers to use to calm themselves when confronted with\nan infant that is crying inconsolably, and discuss selecting appropriate care\nproviders for infant children. Tr aining in recognizing pediatric abusive head trauma\nmay be designed in collaboration with organizations and agencies that specialize in\nthe prevention and recognition of pediatric abusive head trauma approved by the\nsecretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.\n(2) The department shall encourage local jails to provide a course similar to that\ndescribed in subsection (1) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 197"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6871","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:49Z","sha256":"236beb4ab2b99e55e18fecb40f994840650d11341b1de584f437f7282c4cd05d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-197.055","next":"us-ky/krs-197.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
