{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-197.065","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 197.065","heading":"Classification and segregation of prisoners in penal institutions -- Transfer","body":"between institutions.\n(1) The commissioner shall classify all prisoners and segregate the prisoners in all of\nthe state penal institutions and reformatories according to the ir past records, the\nprobability of their being rehabilitated, the influence such prisoners might exert\nupon fellow prisoners, and for any other purpose that the commissioner, in his\ndiscretion, may deem sufficient for the discipline of the prisoners in an y institution\nor reformatory, and for the rehabilitation of any prisoners.\n(2) For the purposes of carrying out subsection (1) of this section, the commissioner\nshall direct and compel the transfer of any prisoner from any penal institution or\nreformatory, irrespective of the order of the court committing the prisoner to any\none (1) institution or reformatory.","path":["KRS Chapter 197"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6874","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:49Z","sha256":"38b25f56539049db1832b8155c3da4e131b9975638b56945f725eb97955ba8a5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-197.061","next":"us-ky/krs-197.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
