{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.093","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.093","heading":"Internship and cooperative placement hours to count towards licensure","body":"by department -- Hours of equivalency -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) The department shall recognize and allow dual credit students receiving directly\nrelated on -the-job training equivalencies of internship and cooperative placement\nhours to count toward the hours necessary to obtain licensure in a profession\nregulated by the department, including but not limited to electrician, plumbing, and\nheating, ventilation, and air conditioning licenses.\n(2) The maximum equivalencies to count toward licensure under subsection (1) of this\nsection shall be:\n(a) For electrician licenses, up to four thousand (4,000) hours in accordance with\nKRS 227A.060;\n(b) For plumber licenses, up to two (2) years; and\n(c) For heating, ventilation, and air conditioning licenses, up to three thousand\n(3,000) hours.\n(3) The department shall establish a reporting system under this section through the\npromulgation of administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A.\n(4) The department shall utilize the current administrative regulations governing\nlicensure attainment to determine the eligibility and applicability of directly related\non-the-job training hours, ensuring alignment with existing l icensure requirements\nand standards.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56134","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:51Z","sha256":"46713e0223527a7fdfd7f7b73b5debc34e886b0ba3554074fee8ee303b9d97af","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.092","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.095"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
