{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.260","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.260","heading":"Administrative regulations to make  buildings accessible to and","body":"usable by persons with a disability -- Compliance required.\n(1) The  department shall promulgate administrative regulations, pursuant to KRS\nChapter 13A, applicable to all new and altered buildings which shall establish\nrequirements for making all buildings accessible to and usable by persons with\na disability. These regulations shall require, as a minimum, that all buildings,\nwith the exception of one (1) and two (2) family dwellings, multifamily projects\nconsisting of twenty-four (24) living units or less, church buildings, and\nhistorical structures whose  historic significance would be  threatened or\ndestroyed, be accessible to persons with a disability. If multifamily projects are\nnot exempt under this subsection, only one (1) out of every twenty-five (25)\nunits shall be accessible to persons with a disability. The  administrative\nregulations shall be incorporated into the Kentucky Building Code.\n(2) The  administrative regulations promulgated by the department shall be\nconsistent with the Federal 1991 Americans with Disabilities Act and the\nAmerican Disabilities Act Guidelines.\n(3) No  building permit or other official authorization for construction of any building\nshall be valid unless the plans and specifications are in compliance with the\naccessibility requirements stated in the Kentucky Building Code.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46908","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:51Z","sha256":"46b87ba92b0462e30732ebc0838b66fc5b6a53187cabf582ad57a00efc87fb34","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.250","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.270"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
