{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.470","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.470","heading":"Annual inspection -- Exemptions.","body":"(1) Except as indicated under subsection (2) of this section, every passenger elevator,\nfreight elevator, moving sidewalk, fixed guideway system, and escalator shall be\ninspected once every twelve (12) months.\n(2) The following shall be exempt from the annual inspection requirements of\nsubsection (1) of this section:\n(a) Material lifts;\n(b) Grain elevators;\n(c) Mine elevators;\n(d) Stage elevators;\n(e) Orchestra elevators;\n(f) Organ console elevators;\n(g) Elevators and lifting devices solely in residential build ings used by the\noccupants of a dwelling unit, except where the lifting device is used or\naccessible by the occupants of more than one (1) dwelling unit;\n(h) Freight elevators on the licensed premises of a distillery licensed under KRS\n243.030(1);\n(i) Non-federally regulated, funicular fixed guideway systems; and\n(j) Passenger elevators, freight elevators, moving sidewalks, fixed guideway\nsystems, and escalators installed in federal properties and projects.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36612","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:52Z","sha256":"8de1cdffa5deabf992e783780c2c79359ce40bc586e72574ce9b0a30e1e5156a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.460","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.480"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
