{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.595","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.595","heading":"Proof of liability and workers' compensation  insurance coverage.","body":"(1) The  commissioner shall not issue a license under KRS  198B.560  and\n198B.580, unless the fire protection sprinkler contractor applicant files with the\ncommissioner proof of liability insurance coverage of not less than two hundred\nand fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) one person/maximum  and five hundred\nthousand  dollars ($500,000)  one  accident/maximum  and  workers'\ncompensation insurance as provided for in KRS Chapter 342.\n(2) The  workers' compensation insurance required by this section shall be in the\nform  of certificate of insurance executed by an insurer authorized to do\nbusiness in this state. The liability insurance required by this section shall be\nliability insurance that covers the legal liability of the licensed person as the\nresult of erroneous acts or failure to act in his or her capacity as a fire\nprotection sprinkler contractor or system designer and shall be in the form of\ncertificate of insurance executed by an insurer authorized to do business in this\nstate or exported by a licensed surplus lines broker to an eligible carrier\npursuant to KRS  304.10-020 to 304.10-210. Insurance certificates filed with the\ncommissioner under this section shall remain in force until the insurer has\nterminated future liability by a thirty (30) day notice to the commissioner.\n(3) Failure to maintain the insurance required hereunder shall constitute grounds\nfor denial, suspension, or revocation of a license under KRS  198B.620 by the\ncommissioner.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46928","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:52Z","sha256":"b63b4c70de9417c81d6ac22feea3e4668fe21a2a419de0b15b5f0e77ef362ede","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.590","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.600"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
