{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.656","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.656","heading":"Practice as and assumption  and use of title master contractor,","body":"journeyman, or apprentice without a license prohibited.\nExcept as otherwise provided in KRS 198B.650 to 198B.689:\n(1) A  person shall not claim to be or advertise as being a master heating,\nventilation, and  air conditioning contractor or assume  or use  any  title,\ndesignation, or abbreviation likely to create the impression of this licensure,\nunless that person is the holder of a valid master heating, ventilation, and air\nconditioning contractor's license issued in accordance with KRS  198B.650 to\n198B.689. The holder of a valid master heating, ventilation, and air conditioning\ncontractor's license shall be entitled to practice heating, ventilation, and air\nconditioning contracting, including the obtaining of any necessary permits in\nconnection with the practice of heating, ventilation, and  air conditioning\ncontracting, and shall be primarily responsible for the heating, ventilation, and\nair conditioning work performed;\n(2) A  person shall not claim to be or advertise as being a journeyman heating,\nventilation, and  air conditioning mechanic  or assume  or use  any  title,\ndesignation, or abbreviation likely to create the impression of this licensure,\nunless that person is the holder of a valid journeyman heating, ventilation, and\nair conditioning mechanic's license issued in accordance with KRS 198B.650 to\n198B.689;\n(3) A  person shall not claim to be or advertise as being an apprentice heating,\nventilation, and  air conditioning mechanic  or assume  or use  any  title,\ndesignation, or abbreviation likely to create the impression of certification,\nunless that person is the holder of a valid apprentice heating, ventilation, and\nair conditioning mechanic's certificate issued in accordance  with KRS\n198B.650 to 198B.689; and\n(4) A  person  shall not practice heating, ventilation, and  air conditioning\ncontracting, unless that person has met the requirements of KRS  198B.650 to\n198B.689.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46940","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:52Z","sha256":"f1e2d65d39510f75c70c3899a44e55b3e887c75beca11b382b05fad14a322c7d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.654","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.658"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
