{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-198b.668","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 198B.668","heading":"Insurance requirements.","body":"(1) No  person, firm, or corporation shall practice heating, ventilation, and air\nconditioning contracting unless that person, firm, or corporation maintains\ngeneral liability insurance in an amount not less than five hundred thousand\ndollars ($500,000) and property damage  insurance in an amount not less than\nthree hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) underwritten by an insurance\ncarrier licensed and approved by the Kentucky Department of Insurance.\n(2) Proof of insurance shall be submitted to the department prior to issuance or\nrenewal of a license.\n(3) Proof of insurance, as required by subsection (1) of this section, shall exempt\nlicensees from the requirement of obtaining separate insurance in local\njurisdictions under any local licensing laws.\n(4) No  license shall be valid without the insurance required by this section.\nInsurance carriers shall notify the department upon  cancellation of the\ninsurance of any licensee required to maintain insurance.","path":["KRS Chapter 198B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46948","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:52Z","sha256":"193d4fa6c9cad592ec8bdb8bd98f42c95488c8d59b81b1f582f34cd4c7b7a0cb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-198b.6678","next":"us-ky/krs-198b.670"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
