{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-199.464","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 199.464","heading":"Course for foster parents on prevention and recognition of pediatric","body":"abusive head trauma.\n(1) A foster parent who receives a child younger than the age of five (5) years for\nplacement shall undergo a one and one -half (1.5) hour continuing education session\none (1) time every five (5) years covering the prevention and recognition of\npediatric abusive head trauma as defined in KRS 620.020. A current qualifying\nfoster parent shall demonstrate completion of this educational session by December\n31, 2013.\n(2) The educational session required in this section shall address risk factors related to\npediatric abusive head trauma, and the methods to reduce the risk of pediatric\nabusive head trauma in the foster or adoptive home. Training in recognizing\npediatric abusive head trauma may be designed in collaboration with organizations\nand agencies that specialize in the prevention and recognition of pediatric abusive\nhead trauma approved by the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices.\n(3) The Cabinet f or Health and Family Services may promulgate an administrative\nregulation to implement this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 199"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7167","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:53Z","sha256":"6cb1b6727e272c18618e80a370475fd6307523ebb43e62777e9eede849724512","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-199.463","next":"us-ky/krs-199.465"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
