{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-199.5952","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 199.5952","heading":"Contents of interstate compacts.","body":"A compact entered into pursuant to the authority conferred by KRS 199.595 to 199.5955\nshall have the following content:\n(1) A provision making it available for joinder by all states;\n(2) A provision or provisions for withdrawal from the compact upon writte n notice to\nthe parties, but with a period of one (1) year between the date of the notice and the\neffective date of the withdrawal;\n(3) A requirement that the protections afforded by or pursuant to the compact continue\nin force for the duration of the adop tion assistance and be applicable to all children\nand their adoptive parents who on the effective date of the withdrawal are receiving\nadoption assistance from a party state other than the one in which they are resident\nand have their principal place of abode;\n(4) A requirement that each instance of adoption assistance to which the compact\napplies be covered by an adoption assistance agreement in writing between the\nadoptive parents and the state child welfare agency of the state which undertakes to\nprovide the adoption assistance, and further, that any such agreement be expressly\nfor the benefit of the adopted child and enforceable by the adoptive parents, and the\nstate agency providing the adoption assistance; and\n(5) Such other provisions as may be appropriate to implement the proper administration\nof the compact.","path":["KRS Chapter 199"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7200","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:54Z","sha256":"29b2ca6ed42f82c6ec1f08f39a83cc8416a6dee79d53b074f428eb02b19be59d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-199.5951","next":"us-ky/krs-199.5953"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
