{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-199.882","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 199.882","heading":"Definitions for KRS 199.881 to 199.888.","body":"As used in KRS 199.881 to 199.888:\n(1) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;\n(2) \"Child-care provider\" means a child -care provider that is rated pursuant to the\nquality-based graduated early care and education program rating system set forth in\nKRS 199.8943;\n(3) \"Contribution\" means a direct payment to a child -care provider made either directly\nby an employer or through a third party on behalf of the employer to subsidize an\nemployee's eligible child-care costs;\n(4) \"Eligible child-care costs\" means costs to be incurred by an individual for services\nrendered by an eligible child-care provider;\n(5) \"Employee\" means an individual who works in Kentucky and is employed by an\nemployer;\n(6) \"Employer\" means a nonprofit or for -profit entity with at least one (1) employee\nwho works in Kentucky in each of twenty (20) or more calendar weeks in the\ncurrent or preceding calendar year;\n(7) \"Fund\" means the fund administered by the cabinet as described in KRS 199.885;\n(8) \"Program\" means the Employee Child Care Assistance Partnership;\n(9) \"Small business\" means a business with fewer than fifty (50) employees who are\nindividually contracted to work more than thirty-five (35) hours per week;\n(10) \"State match\" means the money paid directly to the child -care provider by the\ncabinet or a third-party administrator from the fund described in KRS 199.885;\n(11) \"State median household income\" means the most recent estimate available of real\nmedian household income for the state, as determined by the United States Census\nBureau, and adjusted for family size; and\n(12) \"Third-party administrator\" means a private entity contracted by the cabinet to\nadminister the program.","path":["KRS Chapter 199"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56907","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:55Z","sha256":"72dea165af589d63f4dd204e5e23ae4b74e5883d76cbec334926d801383a66b1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-199.881","next":"us-ky/krs-199.883"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
