{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-200.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 200.550","heading":"Hemophilia treatment program.","body":"(1) The Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs shall establish a\nHemophilia Treatment Program within the office for the detection, diagnosis and\ntreatment of persons suffering from hemophilia. The Hemophilia Treatment\nProgram shall assist those per sons who require continuing treatment with blood,\nblood derivatives, or a manufactured pharmaceutical product to avoid crippling,\nhospitalization, or other effects associated with hemophilia, but who are unable to\npay for the entire cost of such services on a continuing basis.\n(2) The office shall also initiate activities with the advice of the Hemophilia Advisory\nCommittee to:\n(a) Develop standards for determining eligibility for the care and treatment of\npersons suffering from hemophilia;\n(b) Assist in th e development and expansion of programs for the diagnosis and\ntreatment of hemophilia and related diseases including but not limited to home\ncare and medical and dental procedures designed to provide maximum control\nover bleeding;\n(c) Provide financial ass istance either directly or indirectly to persons suffering\nfrom hemophilia for the purpose of obtaining blood, blood derivatives and\nconcentrates, and other efficacious agents for use in hospital, medical and\ndental facilities as well as in the home;\n(d) Provide for community educational programs for the detection of hemophilia\nand for the counseling of individuals and families suffering from hemophilia;\nand\n(e) Conduct educational programs for physicians, dentists, hospitals, health\ndepartments, and the pu blic concerning the methods of detection, diagnosis\nand treatment of persons who have hemophilia.","path":["KRS Chapter 200"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7312","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:56Z","sha256":"6acecfa550ff2cf07eec74ef01fb44a87f8998f1e9933e4194ea2bcab306bdb9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-200.509","next":"us-ky/krs-200.560"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
