{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-201.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 201.050","heading":"Board to acquire property.","body":"(1) The board may acquire by lease, purchase, gift or condemnation, all property\nnecessary or suitable for establishing the home, and may erect, equip, operate, and\nmaintain such suitable buildings as may be necessary for the care, custody,\nmaintenance, educat ion, and training of the children committed to it. The board\nshall provide such buildings, grounds, equipment and units, in the county in which\nthe board is created.\n(2) When the property of any other board or institution within the county is conveyed to\nthe board, and such property is owned, maintained or controlled in whole or in part\nby any city or division or district in the city, the conveyance shall first be authorized\nby the legislative body or other city board of such city or division or district; and\nwhen the property is owned, maintained or controlled in whole or in part by the\ncounty, the conveyance shall first be authorized by the fiscal court of the county. In\neither case, the governing body of the institution must also authorize and direct the\nconveyance to be made. Where any such conveyance is made to the board, the board\nshall receive and maintain in the home, all children who, at the time of the\nconveyance, are in the care and custody of the institution whose property is so\nconveyed.\n(3) The board shall not be compelled to accept any conveyance which the board finds\nunsuited for the purposes of this chapter, or the improvement of which would entail\nan injudicious expenditure.","path":["KRS Chapter 201"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7345","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:57Z","sha256":"8d6943c9fd7b634ffe39e105c5d33b3124dff6db056f83d20eb01f252e4f3c51","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-201.040","next":"us-ky/krs-201.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
