{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-202c.120","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 202C.120","heading":"Notification of receiving psychiatric facility -- Transportation of","body":"patient.\n(1) The  court which orders any respondent transferred to a forensic psychiatric\nfacility under KRS  202C.050 or 504.110(3), shall at once notify the receiving\nhospital or psychiatric facility that such order has been made, advising of the\nsex and condition of the respondent and any other pertinent information.\n(2) After the forensic psychiatric facility has been so notified, the court shall order\nthe sheriff of the county or other peace officer to transport the respondent\nwithin forty-eight (48) hours, excluding weekends and holidays, from the county\nin which the respondent is located to the forensic psychiatric facility designated\nby the cabinet. The sheriff or other peace officer may, upon agreement of a\nperson authorized by the peace officer, authorize the cabinet, a private agency\non  contract with the cabinet, or an ambulance  service designated by the\ncabinet to transport the respondent to the forensic psychiatric facility.\n(3) Any  respondent released from a forensic psychiatric facility under KRS\n202C.030  or 202C.060 shall be transported to the respondent's county of\ndischarge by a sheriff or other peace  officer, by an ambulance  service\ndesignated by the cabinet, or by other appropriate means  of transportation\nwhich is consistent with the treatment plan of that respondent. The cost of\ntransporting the respondent to the respondent's county of discharge when\nperformed by a peace officer, ambulance service, or other private agency on\ncontract with the cabinet shall be paid by the cabinet in accordance with an\nadministrative regulation issued by the cabinet pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A.","path":["KRS Chapter 202C"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50876","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:01Z","sha256":"71590df732a71e1bd7a6ef1c95e266edec3f1d5543c71d1d5f023a8e7054ab19","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-202c.110","next":"us-ky/krs-202c.130"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
