{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.1783","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.1783","heading":"Transitional benefit alternative -- Elderly Simplified Application Project -","body":"- Online employment and training program -- Administrative regulations.\nIn order to improve access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, reduce\nadministrative costs associated with the program, and enhance program integrity, the\ncabinet shall:\n(1) Within one hundred eighty (180) days after July 14, 2022:\n(a) Establish a transitional benefit alternative as described in 7 C.F.R. secs.\n273.26 to 273.32;\n(b) Request a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture to\nimplement:\n1. An Elderly Simplified Application Project for individuals who have no\nearned income and who are over sixty (60) years of age or who are\ndisabled; and\n2. A standard medical de duction waiver for individuals who are over sixty\n(60) years of age or are disabled;\n(c) Establish procedures to allow Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program\nbeneficiaries to recertify eligibility online;\n(d) To the extent permitted under federal law, d evelop and implement an online\nemployment and training program, as defined in 7 U.S.C. sec. 2015(d)(4), for\nany individual that is subject to work requirements under 7 U.S.C. sec.\n2015(d)(1);\n(e) Request a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture relating to\nSupplemental Nutrition Assistance time limit exception established in 7\nC.F.R. sec. 273.24(c)(4); and\n(f) Promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A\nnecessary to administer this section; and\n(2) Within ninety  (90) days after July 14, 2022, require all households receiving\nSupplemental Nutrition Assistance benefits, except for those households described\nin subsection (1)(b) of this section, to comply with the change reporting\nrequirements permitted pursuant to 7 C.F.R. sec. 273.12(a).","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53079","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:02Z","sha256":"a1c9afcd49dfab5a2b0bce4a2381b27bbaee5ff5b31a2e5abdfa9cd54badf48f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.1781","next":"us-ky/krs-205.179"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
