{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.2003","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.2003","heading":"Administrative regulations for work program for public assistance","body":"recipients -- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and\nTraining state plan initiatives -- Annual report.\n(1) The secretary shall promulgate administrative regu lations in accordance with KRS\nChapter 13A to develop a work program for recipients of public assistance under\nTitle IV-A of the Federal Social Security Act to provide for immediate employment\nor preparation for employment.\n(2) The self-sufficiency of part icipants shall be the primary goal of the work program.\nParticipants shall bear the ultimate responsibility in pursuit of this goal.\n(3) In partnership with participants, the cabinet shall assess their strengths and needs\nand provide supportive services to assist in the pursuit of work and self-sufficiency.\n(4) The cabinet shall:\n(a) Develop and implement initiatives under Kentucky's Supplemental Nutrition\nAssistance Program Employment and Training state plan, established in\naccordance with 7 C.F.R. sec. 27 3.7, to promote improved employment\noutcomes and workforce participation. The initiatives shall:\n1. Be related to healthy workforce habits among eligible individuals;\n2. Include establishing partnerships with public and private entities,\nincluding but not limited to workforce boards, educational institutions,\nemployers, and community organizations;\n3. Include partner -funded programs supporting household food security\nand improved nutrition, including but not limited to an incentive\nprogram for the purpose o f increasing the purchase and consumption of\nnutritious foods both at work and at home;\n4. Include job readiness, occupational training, and work -based learning\nopportunities;\n5. Implement employment assessment and individualized employment\nplanning; and\n6. Include case management and employment navigation services;\n(b) To the extent allowable b y federal law, utilize federal Supplemental Nutrition\nAssistance Program matching grant funds as provided in 7 C.F.R. sec.\n273.7(d);\n(c) On or before December 1, 2026, pursue any federal approvals necessary to\nimplement the initiatives, including a submission of a state plan amendment to\nKentucky's federally approved Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program\nEmployment and Training state plan; and\n(d) Submit a report to the Legislative Research Commission for referral to the\nInterim Joint Committee on Healt h Services and appear before the Interim\nJoint Committee on Health Services annually to update the members of the\ncommittee regarding program participation levels, employment outcomes,\nhealthy workforce outcomes, federal fund draw downs, and program impacts.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57405","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:02Z","sha256":"beb63fe58cba7e773e3fa0deecdabb4f9ee078942c8a3f6ba953278f3b768125","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.2002","next":"us-ky/krs-205.2005"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
