{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.203","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.203","heading":"Authorization to provide in-home services to the aging -- Collection of fees.","body":"(1) The secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services may provide, within\nbudgetary limitations, for in -home services to the aging to include, but not\nnecessarily limited to: homemaker services; home -help therapy services; day -care\nservices; home-delivered meal services; transportation services; foster care services;\nand health services.\n(2) The cabinet is authorized to collect fees for services rendered pursuant to  this\nsection in accordance with a fee schedule adopted by the secretary for health and\nfamily services. The fee schedule shall take into consideration the ability of the\npatient or client to pay for such services. Fees shall not be collected from any person\nwho is \"needy aged\" as defined by KRS 205.010.\n(3) The secretary may utilize and promote available or potential community resources\nfor the delivery of services to the aging and shall, when he deems appropriate,\ncontract for services with local, communi ty, private agencies, and individuals,\nincluding relatives of patients and clients, when such services would not otherwise\nbe available without cost.\n(4) The services to the aging authorized under this section are in addition and\nsupplementary to any servi ces to which the aging may be entitled under any other\nfederal, state, or local governmental law, regulation, or program.\n(5) The services to the aging authorized under this section shall be designed to meet the\nneeds of the minority elderly as identified by the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices pursuant to KRS 205.201.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7655","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:02Z","sha256":"e927931211bba7893b0abca5b8c64773aea986416d4a22b5d5aa976ffbbd501c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.202","next":"us-ky/krs-205.204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
