{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.5510","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.5510","heading":"Definitions for KRS 205.5510 to 205.5520.","body":"As used in KRS 205.5510 to 205.5520, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department for Medicaid Services;\n(2) \"Managed care organization\" has the same meaning as in KRS 205.532;\n(3) \"Pharmacy benefit manager\" has the same meaning as in KRS 304.9-020;\n(4) \"Spread pricing\" means any technique by which a pharmacy benefit manager or\nother administrator of pharmacy benefits charges or claims an amount from an\ninsurer or managed care organization for pharmacy or pharmacist services,\nincluding payment for a prescription drug, that is different than the amount the\npharmacy benefit manager or other administrator pays to the pharmacy or\npharmacist that provided the services; and\n(5) \"State pharmacy benefit manager\" means the pharmacy ben efit manager contracted\nby the department, pursuant to KRS 205.5512, to administer pharmacy benefits for\nall Medicaid recipients enrolled in a managed care organization in the\nCommonwealth.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49884","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:03Z","sha256":"b99fbfc0c58ea2aea006004fde0604d56a1ae1df2ba5d62934bd2ec5cbe10f13","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.550","next":"us-ky/krs-205.5512"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
