{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.585","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.585","heading":"Review of services and treatment for sickle cell disease -- Annual report --","body":"Short title.\n(1) The cabinet shall conduct an annual review of all medications, services, and forms\nof treatment for enrollees with a diagnosis of sickle cell diseas e that are eligible for\ncoverage under the Kentucky medical assistance program. The purpose of the\nannual review shall be to determine if the available covered medications, services,\nand treatments are adequate to meet the need of enrollees with a diagnosi s of sickle\ncell disease and if Department for Medicaid Services should seek to expand\ncoverage to include additional medications, services, and treatments.\n(2) When conducting the annual review required by this section, the cabinet shall solicit\nand consi der input from the general public with specific emphasis on obtaining\ninput from individuals or groups with knowledge and experience in the area of\nsickle cell disease treatment.\n(3) (a) No later than January 15, 2023, and no later than January 15 each yea r\nthereafter, the cabinet shall submit a report to the Legislative Research\nCommission for distribution to the appropriate subject matter committees. The\nreport required by this subsection shall detail the cabinet's findings from the\nannual review required  by this section and any recommendations based on\nthose findings.\n(b) The cabinet shall make the report required by paragraph (a) of this subsection\navailable on its Web site in a manner that is accessible by the general public.\n(4) This section may be cited as Emily's Law.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52750","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:04Z","sha256":"9d25bc3d044b8dc3c7b964697df6effb2548c8306fa4b9c72bb8e8d7bc774aaa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.580","next":"us-ky/krs-205.590"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
