Notwithstanding this review, the cabinet shall by promulgation of\nadministrative regulation, pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A, do the following:\n(1) Prescribe reimbursement rates for emergency transportation providers to ensure that\nemergency rates are paid only for transporting medical assistance recipients to the\nemergency room of a hospital in emergency situations;\n(2) Establish, in nonemergency cases, lower medical assistance reimbursement rates for\nemergency transportation providers for the transportation of stretcher patients from\nnursing homes to physician offices or hospitals; and\n(3) Establish a verification system that requires medical prov iders to confirm that\nmedical assistance recipients have appointments for medical services and that\nmedical services were medically necessary and were obtained prior to payment by\nthe cabinet to the emergency transportation provider.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7759","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:04Z","sha256":"bf6f8cd8b10c756bfd902ca3d7a99f4f16c5aafd6e1d96f6b70c3fb000093b0f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.6313","next":"us-ky/krs-205.6315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
