The cabinet shall by\npromulgation of administrative regulation, pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A, establish the\nfollowing:\n(1) Point-of-sale computer technology, with integration of data at the physician's office\nand the pharmacy, that will permit prospective drug utilization review;\n(2) Usage parameters by drug class to enable medical necessity and appropriateness\nreviews to be conducted prior to payment;\n(3) A dialog among the Department for Medicaid Services, the Kentucky Medical\nBoard of Li censure, and the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, to develop\nrecommendations for legislation for the 1996 Regular Session of the General\nAssembly that will strengthen the generic substitution laws for prescription\nmedication; and\n(4) A dispensing fee for each prescription.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7761","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:04Z","sha256":"d3c17d055df7a550c6a3defdb45e7a1f6dfa62bc8083b4e94408a5409ec43245","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.6315","next":"us-ky/krs-205.6317"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
