{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.6487","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.6487","heading":"Establishment of trust fund -- Maintenance.","body":"(1) A  \"Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program  Trust Fund\" shall be\nestablished for the purpose of receiving all appropriated funds, premiums, or\nother revenue received by the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program\nto be used for the payment  of costs and  services associated with the\nadministration of the program. Appropriations made to the Kentucky Children's\nHealth Insurance Program trust fund shall not lapse at the end of a fiscal year\nbut shall be carried forward in the trust fund account and shall be available for\nallotment for its particular purpose in the next fiscal year.\n(2) The  Kentucky Children's Health Insurance trust fund may  receive state\nappropriations, gifts, and grants, including federal funds. Any unallotted or\nunencumbered  balances in the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program\ntrust fund shall be invested as provided for in KRS  42.500(9). Income earned\nfrom the investments shall be credited to the Kentucky Children's Health\nInsurance Program trust fund account.\n(3) The  secretary of the Cabinet for Health and  Family Services shall, by\nadministrative regulation promulgated in accordance with KRS  Chapter 13A,\nprovide for the administration of the trust fund.\n(4) In administering the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program, the\nadministrative costs under the program shall be limited to no more than ten\npercent (10%) of applicable program costs.\n(5) The  trust fund shall administer any savings from the implementation of the\ncabinet's Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program through managed\ncare and shall use those savings to provide state matching funds for any\nenhanced federal funds available under Title XXI of the Federal Social Security\nAct.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46324","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:04Z","sha256":"f19ddbbac9b4c9e45bb950b3e408021ef0add30aa0ed3b02604efa7e01d84082","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.6485","next":"us-ky/krs-205.6489"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
