{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.835","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.835","heading":"Disclosure of financial data pertinent to applicants for or recipients of","body":"benefits -- Fee -- Written consent.\n(1) Notwithstanding any existing state statute or regulation to the contrary, all banks,\nsavings and loan associations, credit unions, and ot her financial institutions shall,\nupon request of the secretary, inform such representative, no later than fifteen (15)\ndays after such request, of the type of account, the amount thereof, the activity of\nsuch account and other relevant data pertinent to a n applicant for or recipient of\nbenefits under programs administered by the cabinet and members of such\nhouseholds.  Information disclosed by the cabinet to any bank, savings and loan\nassociation, credit union, or other financial institution pursuant to th is section shall\nbe  deemed to be privileged and shall not be disclosed by any such institution to any\nother party except as may be authorized by law.\n(2) Banks, savings and loan associations, credit unions, and other financial institutions\nmay charge the cabinet for services rendered pursuant to subsection (1) of this\nsection in accordance with a reasonable fee schedule prescribed by the\ncommissioner of banking and securities, not to exceed actual cost.\n(3) Written consent to disclosure of financial data a s provided in subsection (1) of this\nsection shall be given by applicants for benefits under a program administered by\nthe cabinet at the time of application and by recipients of benefits when eligibility is\nreconsidered or redetermined.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=7849","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:05Z","sha256":"36671cc00c50a73e77ced1d7608af47a6c34ce30cfc8635035dd02e8eea87bcd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.830","next":"us-ky/krs-205.845"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
