{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-205.8483","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 205.8483","heading":"Toll-free hotline for receiving reports of fraud and abuse -- Report.","body":"(1) The Office of the Inspector General in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services\nshall establish, maintain, and publicize a twenty -four (24) hour toll -free hotline for\nthe purpose of receiving reports of alleged fraud and abuse by Medical Assistance\nProgram recipients and participating providers.\n(2) The Office of the Inspector General in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services\nshall develop and implement procedures for  screening alleged fraud and abuse of\nthe Medical Assistance Program to ensure that appropriate written referrals are\nmade to:\n(a) The Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control in the Office of the\nAttorney General of credible allegations of fraud and abu se by providers\nparticipating in the Medical Assistance Program; and\n(b) Other agencies and licensure boards of all allegations received on the hotline\nthat are relevant to their jurisdiction.\n(3) The Office of the Inspector General in the Cabinet for Heal th and Family Services\nshall provide, upon request, a Medicaid fraud and abuse report that shall include but\nnot be limited to the following information from the prior fiscal year:\n(a) The number and type of reports received in the Office of the Inspector\nGeneral in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, from the Medicaid\nfraud and abuse hotline categorized by recipient and provider groups; and\n(b) The number and type of alleged Medicaid recipient fraud and abuse reports\nwhich were opened for investiga tion by the Office of Inspector General and\ntheir disposition.","path":["KRS Chapter 205"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54547","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:05Z","sha256":"92a77234fed6bc4ed401a02819b98309c02e859a973a333b88aa6ef6d4fc8ea6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-205.8481","next":"us-ky/krs-205.850"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
