{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-207.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 207.130","heading":"Definitions for KRS  207.140 to 207.240.","body":"As used in KRS 207.140 to 207.240 unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Persons\" means one (1) or more individuals, partnerships, municipalities, the\nstate, or other political subdivisions within the state, associations, labor\norganizations, or corporations.\n(2) \"Physical disability\" means  the physical condition of a  person whether\ncongenital or acquired, which constitutes a substantial disability to that person\nand  is demonstrable by medically accepted clinical or laboratory diagnostic\ntechniques.\n(3) \"Employer\" means a person or governmental unit or officer in this state having\nin his or its employ eight (8) or more individuals; and any person acting in the\ninterest of an employer, directly or indirectly.\n(4) \"Labor organization\" means  a labor organization and an agent of such an\norganization, and includes an organization of any kind, an agency or employee\nrepresentation committee, group, association, or plan so engaged in which\nemployees participate and which exists for the purpose, in whole or in part, of\ndealing with employers concerning grievances, labor disputes, wages, rates of\npay, hours, or other terms or conditions of employment, and a conference,\ngeneral committee, joint system or board, or joint council so engaged which is\nsubordinate to a national or international labor organization.\n(5) \"Unfair employment  practice\" means  an act that is prohibited under KRS\n207.150, 207.160 or 207.170.\n(6) \"Commissioner\" means  the commissioner of the Department of Workplace\nStandards, under the direction and  supervision of the secretary of the\nEducation and Labor Cabinet.\n(7) \"Department\" means the Department of Workplace Standards in the Education\nand Labor Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 207"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52411","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:06Z","sha256":"6654261998aeb3485e6dbc8c71bfb9b9e4680da7e1748ae603f96746d588e419","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-207.120","next":"us-ky/krs-207.135"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
