{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-210.057","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 210.057","heading":"Powers and duties as to research on controlled substances.","body":"(1) The Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall conduct research into all aspects\nof controlled substances as defined in KRS 218A.010 in coordination with the\nKentucky Board of Pharmacy.\n(2) The Cabinet for Health and Family Services may authorize persons  engaged in\nresearch on the use and effects of dangerous substances to withhold the names and\nother identifying characteristics of persons who are subjects of such research.\nPersons who obtain this authorization may not be compelled in any state civil,\ncriminal, administrative, legislative, or other proceeding to identify the subjects of\nresearch for which such authorization was obtained.\n(3) The Cabinet for Health and Family Services may authorize the possession and\ndistribution of controlled dangerous sub stances by persons engaged in research.\nPersons who obtain this authorization shall be exempt from state prosecution for\npossession and distribution of dangerous substances to the extent authorized by the\nCabinet for Health and Family Services.","path":["KRS Chapter 210"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8231","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:10Z","sha256":"f7247c6fe3154c4ed7ecdf307ccbae1904adaef7921407e8a2fae02fd0cce280","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-210.055","next":"us-ky/krs-210.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
