{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-210.400","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 210.400","heading":"Duties of board.","body":"Subject to the provisions of this section and the policies and regulations of the secretary\nof the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, each community board for mental health\nor individuals with an intellectual disability shall:\n(1) Review and evaluate services for mental health or individuals with an intellectual\ndisability provided pursuant to KRS 210.370 to 210.460, and report thereon to the\nsecretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the administrator of the\nprogram, and, when indicated,  the public, together with recommendations for\nadditional services and facilities;\n(2) Recruit and promote local financial support for the program from private sources\nsuch as community chests, business, industrial and private foundations, voluntary\nagencies, and other lawful sources, and promote public support for municipal and\ncounty appropriations;\n(3) Promote, arrange, and implement working agreements with other social service\nagencies, both public and private, and with other educational and judicial agencies;\n(4) Adopt and implement policies to stimulate effective community relations;\n(5) Be responsible for the development and approval of an annual plan and budget;\n(6) Act as the administrative authority of the community program for mental health or\nindividuals with an intellectual disability;\n(7) Oversee and be responsible for the management of the community program for\nmental health or individuals with an intellectual disability in accordance with the\nplan and budget adopted by the board and the polici es and regulations issued under\nKRS 210.370 to 210.480 by the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices;\n(8) Comply with the provisions of KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090; and\n(9) Deliver the training recommended by the Department for Behavioral Healt h,\nDevelopmental and Intellectual Disabilities for local jailers and other officers of the\ncourt who may come in contact with persons deemed mentally ill and who are\nincarcerated or in detention.","path":["KRS Chapter 210"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48982","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:11Z","sha256":"d4a8dbc300b94aa5adbf8c3f3a620e196742c850b7078d841243549ca42c6e15","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-210.390","next":"us-ky/krs-210.405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
