{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-210.710","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 210.710","heading":"Definitions for KRS 210.710 to 210.760.","body":"(1) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.\n(2) \"Facility\" means a hospital or other institution operated or utilized by the cabinet for\nthe mentally ill, individuals with an intellectual disability, or respiratory disease\npatients.\n(3) \"Homestead\" means a place where a family makes its home including the land,\nhouse and furnishings, outbuildings, vehicles, and tools of the trade formerly\noccupied by the patient which is exempted by KRS 210.710 to 210.760 from\nliability to meet patient charges for services rendered in a facility.\n(4) \"Means test\" means a uniform method adopted by the secretary for determining the\nability to pay of the patient or person responsible for the patient for board,\nmaintenance and treatment at a facility operated or utilized by the cabinet.\n(5) \"Person responsible for the patient\" includes parents, spouses, guardians, and\ncommittees within the scope of their fiduciary duties.\n(6) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.","path":["KRS Chapter 210"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40822","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:11Z","sha256":"01fbc080c23f765feeb1b78b32637be4d988cc974232c74a0e289a4c33d60579","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-210.700","next":"us-ky/krs-210.720"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
