{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.090","heading":"Powers and duties of secretary.","body":"The secretary shall:\n(1) Appoint county and district boards of health pursuant to KRS 212.020 and 212.850;\n(2) Establish rules and promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS\nChapter 13A necessary to regulate and control all matters set forth in KRS 211.180\nto the extent the regulation and control of same have not been delegated to some\nother agency of the Commonwealth and establish and adopt such other rules and\nregulations as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes of this chapter and any\nother law relating to public health, except as otherwise provided by law;\n(3) Issue or deny hospital licenses;\n(4) Approve or disapprove the establishment of proposed hospital service corporations\nand contracts for hospital service corporations and contracts for hospital serv ices\npursuant to KRS 304.32-030;\n(5) Approve or disapprove of the establishment of proposed medical service plan\ncorporations and contract for medical services pursuant to KRS 304.32 -050,\n304.32-140, and 304.32-160; and\n(6) Enforce the provisions of KRS 311.250, 311.260, 311.375, 311.376.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56585","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:11Z","sha256":"8424cd2814e22a61a9856d37d16e974be28e9760487a0e0be93d1e92f01ce6e5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.080","next":"us-ky/krs-211.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
