{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.125","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.125","heading":"Educational materials regarding female genital mutilation.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"female genital mutilation\" has the same meaning as in KRS\n508.125.\n(2) The Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services\nshall:\n(a) Develop and produce educational materials regarding female genital\nmutilation, the health risks and emotional trauma inflicted by the practice of\nfemale genital mutilation, and the criminal penalties for female genital\nmutilation; and\n(b) Disseminate the educational material produced under paragraph (a) of this\nsubsection t o health care providers, teachers, law enforcement personnel,\nimmigration and refugee resettlement agencies, and any other professionals or\ncommunity entities who may reasonably be expected to come into contact\nwith individuals who may be at risk of suffering female genital mutilation.\n(3) The department may consult or contract with nonprofit organizations to develop and\nproduce the educational materials required by subsection (2) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49893","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:11Z","sha256":"d0fd0f7bf2724edbfdf5374fa5c50d3a9b97a64ddc002fec487d45fa58c8fd3a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.123","next":"us-ky/krs-211.130"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
