{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.190","heading":"Public health services to be provided by the cabinet.","body":"The cabinet shall provide public health services including:\n(1) Administrative, consultative, technical, professional, and other services needed to\nassist local health departments in the effective maintenance and operation of their\ndepartments;\n(2) Administrative, investigative, and clerical services required by the secretary of the\nCabinet for Health and Family Services, and may upon request provide these\nservices to any other agency of this Commonwealth authorized to control the\npractice of any other healing art;\n(3) Administration of grants, gifts, or contributions from the federal government, or\nfrom other sources, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of Pub. L. No.\n725 (79th Congress, 2nd Session, chapter 958), or any other acts for the same o r\nsimilar purposes;\n(4) Central registrations of births, deaths, and other vital records and the furnishing of\ncopies thereof to the general public in the manner prescribed by law;\n(5) Statistical services, including the compilation, analysis, and maintena nce of\nstatistics on matters related to public health, and may provide these services to\norganizations and persons interested in public health;\n(6) Education of the public concerning all matters relating to health, including the\npublication and disseminati on of health information, and the stimulation of citizen\nsupport for the promotion and maintenance of high standards of public health\nthroughout the Commonwealth;\n(7) Survey and study of the needs of medical and hospital facilities in the interest of the\nhealth of the general public;\n(8) Establishment, maintenance, and operation of public health laboratories and such\nbranches thereof as may be needed;\n(9) Establishment, maintenance, and operation of training facilities and schools for\nemployees of the cabinet and of local health departments;\n(10) Tabulating, duplicating, and other ancillary services as are necessary to the\noperation of the cabinet, including the keeping of adequate financial, personnel, and\nother records; and\n(11) Establishment, maintenance,  monitoring, and enforcement of water fluoridation\nprograms for the protection of dental health.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8362","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:12Z","sha256":"369a220975c63b290d1dfc450d5f48e7a118cceed48797a1ef82e39f53f912d5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.188","next":"us-ky/krs-211.192"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
