{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.297","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.297","heading":"Palliative Care Consumer and Professional Information and Education","body":"Program.\n(1) The statewide Palliative Care Consumer and Professional Information and\nEducation Program is hereby established within the cabinet.\n(2) The goals of the Palliati ve Care Consumer and Professional Information and\nEducation Program shall be to maximize the effectiveness of palliative care\ninitiatives throughout the Commonwealth by ensuring that comprehensive and\naccurate information and education about palliative car e are available to the public,\nhealth care providers, and health facilities.\n(3) The cabinet shall publish on its website information and resources, including links\nto external resources, about palliative care for the public, health care providers, and\nhealth facilities. This shall include but not be limited to:\n(a) Continuing education opportunities for health care providers;\n(b) Information about palliative care delivery in the home, primary, secondary,\nand tertiary environments;\n(c) Best practices for palliative care delivery; and\n(d) Consumer educational materials and referral information for palliative care,\nincluding hospice.\n(4) (a) The council shall have the authority to review, evaluate, and make\nrecommendations regarding all elements of the Palliat ive Care Consumer and\nProfessional Information and Education Program, the content of the website\ninformation and resources described in subsection (3) of this section, and best\npractices for palliative care delivery and any grants to develop or implement\nthem.\n(b) Any evaluations or recommendations shall require the affirmat ive vote in\nperson, by electronic means, or by proxy of three -fourths (3/4) of the voting\nmembers of the council.\n(c) Not later than July 1, 2020, and annually thereafter, the council shall submit a\nreport on its findings and recommendations to the commiss ioner of the\nDepartment for Public Health and to the Interim Joint Committee on Health\nServices.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53695","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:12Z","sha256":"19799e5a15c24a0c245c4698a19946f52a5c26ceb7c0f518d41633b4ecf529bb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.296","next":"us-ky/krs-211.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
