{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.470","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.470","heading":"Definitions for KRS 211.470 to 211.478.","body":"As used in KRS 211.470 to 211.478:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund Board created pursuant to\nKRS 211.472;\n(2) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;\n(3) \"Traumatic brain injury\" means a partial or total disabili ty caused by injury to the\ncentral nervous system from physical trauma, damage to the central nervous system\nfrom anoxia, hypoxic episodes, allergic conditions, toxic substances, or other acute\nmedical clinical incidents resulting in impaired cognitive abi lities or impaired\nphysical functioning. \"Traumatic brain injury\" does not include:\n(a) Strokes that can be treated in nursing facilities providing routine rehabilitation\nservices;\n(b) Spinal cord injuries for which there are no known or obvious injuries t o the\nintracranial central nervous system;\n(c) Progressive dementias and other mentally impairing conditions;\n(d) Depression and psychiatric disorders in which there is no known or obvious\ncentral nervous system damage;\n(e) An intellectual disability and b irth defect related disorders of long standing\nnature; or\n(f) Neurological degenerative, metabolic, and other medical conditions of a\nchronic, degenerative nature; and\n(4) \"Trust fund\" means the traumatic brain injury trust fund created pursuant to KRS\n211.476.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40827","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:12Z","sha256":"6ca9cac71544bc56e747333be4d9d99e2b4caa367e5b67ac90dfde56b1e1e5b6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.466","next":"us-ky/krs-211.472"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
