{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.861","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.861","heading":"Legislative findings -- Purpose.","body":"(1) The General Assembly finds:\n(a) That the Central Midwest Interstate Low -Level Radioactive Waste Compact\nwas enacted by the State of Illinois and the Commonwealth of Kentucky to\nprovide the instrument and framework for a cooperative effort, and to provide\nsufficient facilities for the pro per management of low -level radioactive waste\ngenerated within the region, limiting the number of facilities, protecting the\nhealth and safety of citizens, and promoting the volume and source reduction\nof low-level radioactive waste generated in the region, and for other purposes.\n(b) That it is the responsibility of each party state to the compact to prescribe and\nenforce penalties against any person who is not an officer of another state for\nviolation of any provision of the compact.\n(2) It is the purpose  of KRS 211.861 to 211.869 to establish a program by which these\nsections and the provisions of the compact may be implemented and enforced.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8500","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:14Z","sha256":"b7120ad7d5b0909d808b64fd8af8e64f41664df7a6d0113e8f85cabf8f164290","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.860","next":"us-ky/krs-211.862"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
