{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.903","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.903","heading":"Testing for lead poisoning.","body":"(1) Testing for lead poisoning shall be an eligible benefit for recipients of the\nCommonwealth's Medical Assistance Program. In addition, testing for lead\npoisoning shall be made available as part of the regular immunization program\noffered by the cabinet and shall be provided without charge by the cabinet and by\nlocal health departments.\n(2) The secretary shall establish programs throughout the Commonwealth, with priority\ngiven to high -risk areas, for the voluntary screening and diagnosis of at -risk\npersons. Such programs shall systematically test for elevated lead blood levels in all\nat-risk persons seventy -two (72) months of age and younger and shall include an\noutreach program if necessary. Priority shall be given to at-risk persons who are one\n(1) year of a ge through three (3) years of age. Such programs shall not apply to\nthose persons having religious objections to such testing. Such testing shall be made\nby such means and at such intervals as the secretary shall by regulation determine\nmay be medically necessary and proper.\n(3) The secretary shall be responsible for providing follow -up screening and diagnostic\nprograms for those persons who were previously diagnosed and treated for lead\npoisoning or were previously diagnosed as having an elevated lead bloo d level.
