{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-211.925","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 211.925","heading":"Powers and duties of cabinet.","body":"In addition to all other powers and duties vested in it by law, the cabinet shall have the\nauthority, power, and duty to:\n(1) Adopt, modify, and repeal regulations and standards relating to the public health or\nhealth aspects of the operation of state conf inement facilities, and exercise general\nsupervision over the administration of KRS 211.920 to 211.945 and assist in the\nenforcement of all regulations and standards promulgated pursuant to it;\n(2) Collect, evaluate, and disseminate information from state confinement facilities as it\nrelates to the public health of the people of the Commonwealth;\n(3) Develop comprehensive plans for the elimination of conditions in state confinement\nfacilities which adversely affect the public health or the health of those p ersons\nconfined or likely to be confined in any state confinement facility;\n(4) Enter upon the premises and inspect any state confinement facility for the purpose\nof determining the extent of compliance with KRS 211.920 to 211.945 and\ninvestigating the eff ect of the operation of state confinement facilities upon the\npublic health or the health of those persons confined or likely to be confined in any\nstate confinement facility;\n(5) Advise, consult, and cooperate with other agencies of the Commonwealth,\nincluding the Department of Corrections, other jurisdictions, the federal\ngovernment, interstate and interlocal agencies, and local governments regarding the\neffects of the operation of confinement facilities upon the public health;\n(6) Accept, receive, and ad minister grants or other funds or gifts from public and\nprivate agencies for the purpose of implementing KRS 211.920 to 211.945.","path":["KRS Chapter 211"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8528","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:14Z","sha256":"7e6f7f14d83666f358e260aaec9e13d9d773d2c383fdfcc7ec5553adacdcc1c7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-211.920","next":"us-ky/krs-211.927"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
