{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-212.540","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 212.540","heading":"Budget.","body":"(1) When the respective appropriations have been duly made by the city and county and\nan estimate of the amount of moneys that the board will receive from appropriations\nand from any and all other sources, for a fiscal year has been made, the board shall\nprepare and certify to the fiscal court of the county and the legislative body of the\ncity for their approval, a revised financial budget setting forth the total amounts of\nfunds available from all sources for expenditures during the board's fiscal year, and\nalso setting forth, in as great detail as possible with respect to each administrative\ndivision, the estimated expenditures of the board for the said fiscal year.\n(2) A contingent fund for unanticipated expenditures may, with the approval of the\nfiscal court of the county and the legislative body of the city, be established in order\nto provide for such contingent and unanticipated needs as may arise during the\nboard's said fiscal year and to supplement allotments to divisions which may require\nthe same. The board, as nearly as may be practicable, shall make all disbursements\nand expenditures in each fiscal year in conformity with the revised budget\nallotments; but in the event of an emergency the board may, with the approval of the\ncounty judge/executive and the mayor of the city, reduce, withhold or transfer from\none division to another, funds or assets so allotted.","path":["KRS Chapter 212"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8637","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:16Z","sha256":"cb0aa16b347f640de238c8496c7d760d757d6e83a0bb9ed7f9f8e5db59c301ff","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-212.530","next":"us-ky/krs-212.550"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
