{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-212.660","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 212.660","heading":"City-county health officer -- Employee benefits.","body":"(1) After the establishment of a city -county health department as provided in KRS\n212.640, the city-county board of health shall appoint a health officer, subject to the\napproval of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Other persons necessary for\nthe wo rk of the city -county health department shall be appointed in the same\nmanner and subject to the same conditions as are other county health department\nemployees.\n(2) Any city health department employee who is covered by a pension fund for civil\nservice emp loyees, as authorized by KRS 90.400 or any other section of the\nKentucky Revised Statutes, prior to the consolidation of the city -county health\ndepartment, may elect to continue such coverage thereafter in lieu of electing\ncoverage under the Kentucky Emplo yees Retirement System, KRS 61.510 to\n61.705; provided, however, that all new employees of such consolidated city-county\nhealth department shall thereafter be covered by the Kentucky Employees\nRetirement System.","path":["KRS Chapter 212"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8663","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:16Z","sha256":"fd328d40b8f8ee4fee6b3fcfe803923bf08808d5508c59f4efc56c31babef3e8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-212.650","next":"us-ky/krs-212.670"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
