{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-212.794","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 212.794","heading":"Bases for funding and budgeting -- Accounting and records system --","body":"Annual report -- Compliance with KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090.\n(1) The cost of creating, establishing, and maintaining the independent district health\ndepartment shall be paid by the partic ipating local boards of health in proportion to\nthe taxable property of each county as determined by respective county assessments\nand in accordance with revenues generated pursuant to authority under KRS\n212.720 and 212.725.\n(2) The independent district h ealth department shall be entitled to the same state aid as\nprovided for county and district health departments under KRS 212.120, upon\nnotification of the establishment of the department being given to the cabinet, as\nprovided in KRS 212.120. Funding from  the cabinet shall be continued at least at\nthe same level and proportion for similar public health activities the district after\nenactment of KRS 212.780 to 212.794 as before. Modification of annual allotments\nshall not be made unless in accordance with causes enumerated under the provisions\nof KRS 212.120.\n(3) An independent district board of health may establish schedules of fees and charges\nfor any services rendered by the department and may recover the fees and charges\nfor services from any person who receives services.\n(4) A board may make reasonable classifications in fee schedules based upon the\nfinancial ability of the person to pay and may vary charges in accordance with\nincome classifications but no fee charged shall exceed the approximate cost of\nrendering such service.\n(5) The district director of health shall prepare a budget for the board's approval and set\nforth the total funds available from all sources for actual and estimated expenditure\nduring the fiscal year. Fiscal years shall begin on J uly 1 of each year and shall end\non June 30 of the following year.\n(6) A board shall install and maintain a system of accounting and records and shall file\nan annual report and other documents required by the fiscal courts, to the cabinet\nand to the local boards of health within one hundred twenty (120) days of the close\nof the board's fiscal year.\n(7) A board shall comply with the provisions of KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090.","path":["KRS Chapter 212"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41748","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:16Z","sha256":"7ec79c00b6e6be29eba54c8c20151f497397b1084c9951a6f9e9f73119832546","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-212.792","next":"us-ky/krs-212.810"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
