{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-212.870","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 212.870","heading":"District health department -- Staff -- Compensation.","body":"(1) A district health officer may employ and fix the compensation of, by contract or\notherwise, subject to the approval of the cabinet all medical, administrative,\ntechnical, clerical, professional, and other employees necessary for the maintenance\nand operati on of the district health department in accordance with standards and\nmerit system provisions prescribed by the cabinet.\n(2) In the absence of a district health officer the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and\nFamily Services or his duly appointed representative shall serve as health officer for\nthe district health department.\n(3) All employees of county health departments which join a district health department\nshall become employees of the district health department.","path":["KRS Chapter 212"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8692","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:16Z","sha256":"e70e5e9779c204fe3480b7a8f0789379fcca9a33a04a92a800bf07dbdfd958c9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-212.860","next":"us-ky/krs-212.880"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
