{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-213.036","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 213.036","heading":"Local registrars -- Deputy registrars -- Services provided by local","body":"registrars and local health departments.\n(1) Each county in the Commonwealth shall carry out the provisions of this chapter.\n(2) The secretary may, upon the recommendation of the state registrar, designate a local\nregistrar in each county to aid in the efficient administration of the system of vital\nstatistics. The local registrar shall be an employee of the local health department.\nThe designation may be revoked by the secretary.\n(3) The local health department may designate one (1) or more employees of the local\nhealth department as deputy registrar. The local registrar may also appoint persons\nas deputy registrars who are not employees of the local health department if, in t he\nopinion of the cabinet, the appointments are necessary. All appointments shall be\nsubject to the approval of the state registrar.\n(4) The local registrar shall supply the Vital Statistics Branch forms and instructions to\npersons responsible for the completion of the forms.\n(5) The local health department shall provide for declaration of paternity services and\ntransmit original certificates and affidavits of paternity to the Vital Statistics Branch\nas directed by the state registrar.","path":["KRS Chapter 213"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50027","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:16Z","sha256":"15f892caa942755d4725ddad007f7eabe69afdb202b5b500325fddec2b20d7bd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-213.031","next":"us-ky/krs-213.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
