{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-213.051","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 213.051","heading":"Information reported by person who assumes custody of live -born infant","body":"of unknown parentage.\n(1) The person who assumes the custody of a live -born infant of unknown parentage\nshall report on a form and in a manner prescribed by the state regi strar within five\n(5) working days to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services the following\ninformation:\n(a) The date and place of finding;\n(b) Sex and approximate birth date of child;\n(c) Name and address of the person or institution with which the chi ld has been\nplaced for care;\n(d) Name given to the child by the custodian of the child; and\n(e) Other data as required by the state registrar to complete a birth certificate.\n(2) The place where the child was found shall be entered as the place of birth.\n(3) A report registered under this section shall constitute the certificate of birth for the\nchild.\n(4) If the child is identified and a certificate of birth is found or obtained, the report\nregistered under this section shall be placed in a special file an d shall not be subject\nto inspection except upon order of a Circuit Court.","path":["KRS Chapter 213"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50031","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:17Z","sha256":"6e412012dad255fa14afa47bc9cbc7afb7e1ebf8df10e39390b5d39d239c0fd7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-213.050","next":"us-ky/krs-213.053"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
